Rigid PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is one of the most versatile thermoplastics on the market today. Applications range from food packaging to laboratory workstations, to home construction. Material advantages include an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and superior flame resistance, and high heat distortion. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or “vinyl” is an amorphous thermoplastic material with excellent chemical resistance and dielectric properties, good tensile, flexural, and mechanical strength, low moisture absorption, exceptional dimensional stability, and good flammability characteristics.

Type 1 rigid PVC flat panels are a highly corrosion-resistant material with normal impact properties and are used where chemical attack is a major concern.
